Our journey together and collaborative initiatives

As a company that does not have products of its own, we have made nurturing people our top priority.

Our partnership with Human Link began in 2011, during the integration of six companies to form Mitsubishi Shokuhin Co., Ltd. Since then, we have worked closely with them in key areas such as talent development, training, and Employee Awareness Survey.

As a wholesaler competing with others offering similar products, our differentiation had to come from our people. We focused on cultivating professionals who could take initiative and embrace challenges, rather than merely following top-down directives. Human Link played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life by proposing targeted training programs and designing a framework aligned with our goals.

Additionally, we launched the Employee Awareness Survey to integrate the diverse cultures of the six companies into a unified Mitsubishi Shokuhin identity. Human Link supported us in making this a continuous process, helping us use it as a valuable tool to address management challenges and drive long-term success.

Our relationship with Human Link

We emphasize the alignment between management and HR, alongside the PDCA cycle.

Along with Human Link, we focus on two key aspects.

First, we emphasize the close alignment between management and HR. For example, following our company integration, HR is responsible for fostering self-reliant employees. In 2023, we revised our seniority-based HR system to one that allows top talent to be promoted more quickly. Human Link supported us to strengthen leadership and management capabilities and develop systems for employees to independently manage their careers and acquire necessary skills. In our 2030 management vision, HR-related metrics are explicitly set as business goals.

Second, we focus on effectively executing the PDCA cycle. Both talent development and Employee Awareness Survey must lead to continuous improvement. With Human Link’s expertise, we have analyzed survey results and used employee feedback, such as “We want to understand more about what management thinks”, to organize town hall meetings with executives. We have also refined training content by carefully analyzing participant feedback.

HR is not just about refining existing initiatives; it’s about facing new challenges at every stage. Recently, we have collaborated with Human Link to address emerging issues through initiatives like career design seminars, open seminars, and evaluator training.

For instance, our career design seminar helps employees align their personal values with the company’s goals, empowering them to take charge of their careers and reach their full potential.

Going forward, we are developing a new talent portfolio to guide our HR strategy. We aim to establish systems like open seminars, where employees can proactively learn and grow.

For organizational culture, we are targeting 70% employee engagement by 2030. With Human Link’s support, we will conduct organizational culture surveys, analyze results, and work together to overcome challenges effectively. As we refine our approach, we plan to conduct additional surveys to ensure progress.
